Biography
Yervand Nahaptian is one of the influential artists in the formation of the school of contemporary watercolor painting, born in 1917 in Isfahan. As a teenager, he has worked under the supervision of Serkis Khachatourian and Alexander Nersesian, and became specialized in watercolor painting. In his early works, he worked in the Impressionism style according to the teachings and teachings he received, but because this style was not known, his early works were not well interpreted. Therefore, Yarvand continued the realism style, and after the flourishing of his works, He worked under the supervision of Haj Mosavar al-Maleki for three years and studied miniature. Therefore, the traces of Iranian painting in the style of Mosavar al-Maleki can be seen in his watercolor works.Inanimate nature, landscapes of Isfahan, traditional workshops, coppersmiths, Assar Khaneh (Oil-extracting-mill), nomads, caravans in the deserts, mosques, churches and city bazaars are some of his subjects, many of which are kept in museums in Iran and around the world.
